Description/Job Summary

The Bridgeport and Port Jefferson Steamboat Company is seeking Ticket Agents. MUST be local to the NY or CT locations.

Summary: 
The Ticket Agent generates ticket sales and assists in the loading and unloading of vehicles.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Meet and greet incoming customers.
  • Give directions and advice to ferry passengers.
  • Position cars to ensure efficient and safe boarding of the ferry
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on the dock
  • Handle ship's lines, freight and ramp operations
  • Sell and/or verify passenger tickets
  • Run errands as requested
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Make reservations for customers at the terminal
  • Maintain knowledge of security procedures and perform same as required

Required Experience

  • HS degree or equivalent
  • Valid TWIC card or proof of application for TWIC card.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, day and evening shifts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to handle and throw lines
  • Must have the ability to stand and perform duties outdoors in all weather conditions.
